Tech-Savvy Patients

For better or worse, we are all more connected than even last year! Sure we still need to have a human answer when our office phone rings, but the digitally-minded patient expects an out of the office experience as well. Reminders of appointments sent via text or email is an unobtrusive way to connect with your patient. An excellent computer web site is expected by now. 57% of all searches are done on mobile devices. So, look at your website on your phone, see if it is easy to navigate, impressive looking, and if it reflects your practice brand. Be sure there's a phone number on the first page that pops up. If not, fix it asap.

Now for the in office experience. What about your reception area ("waiting rooms" were eliminated 10 years ago)? Is it clean and inviting, coffee and cold water available, wifi running fast, and possibly a TV silently playing the news or looping a customized video about your practice?

Is the business decor outdated? Remember you are being judged by your office’s image. Are your dental "toys" up to date? You just need a few to keep up. A laser helps, intra oral cameras are a must, digital imaging of smiles helps you do more esthetics cases, and possibly an in office milling system for crowns.
